The way Aizawa and Yamada disappeared from the announcer’s box. The way he turned with just a little too much haste to hurry them along out of the arena. The way All Might tilted his head down, speaking quietly into his earbud. In hindsight, Katsuki should have seen the signs just predating disaster. He wished literally anyone else was giving away the awards. It didn’t feel right, All Might acknowledging him when Katsuki had been denied giving his all. In this one, it felt bitter, like a citrus peel pressed to his tongue. In another universe, Katsuki would be internally freaking out that All Might himself was gifting him the first place prize at his very first UA sports festival. Todoroki’s presence at his right was grating on his nerves.Īll Might said something and then turned and waved to the camera. He wanted to get this over with and leave. Would it have killed them to just behave until the festival was over? Where did they even get the money? For that matter, why couldn’t the grounding wait until after the festival? They had dropped a sizable chunk of cash on tickets, after all.
Just last month they got grounded for faking IDs to go skydiving of all things. The excuses for the groundings were getting progressively more bizarre. Almost an unnerving amount, and Hisashi’s go-to was continuously taking away their phones. It was just strange that Zuku had gotten tickets and everything for him and Fae to come to Japan and see the festival in person, and yet the two hadn’t shown. Was Zuku watching? He hadn’t texted him in days. So, here he was, silently fuming as All Might hung a heavy weight around his weight. It was tradition for the first place to make a speech, but it had been somewhat of a unanimous decision that Katsuki not say anything, ever. Todoroki stood silently on the second platform, as mute as Tokoyami on the third. That muzzle had only served to incense him further. It was a miracle they managed to wrangle a promise out of him to behave. Katsuki was still pissed beyond all belief.
